According to the National Fenestration Rating Council®, damaging UV rays and radiation enter homes through windows, fading the home’s furnishings. So even though most people associate UV rays with protecting their skin, it actually means also protecting home furnishings with window coverings.
UV damage occurs more than just during the summer months. In the winter, when the sun is lower on the horizon, the harsh glare and the lack of leaves allows the sun to enter farther into the room. If your home has windows that are not covered properly, your belongings will likely experience UV damage. So you should do all you can to protect against UV rays, regardless of the season. Hunter Douglas Silhouette Shades for Jersey Shore homes are perfect. Hunter Douglas Silhouette Window shades can be used to diffuse light. They are a great solution for the Jersey Shore.
Through diffusing light Hunter Douglas Silhouette’s only let in soft and natural light. The best light is diffused light, the light of early morning. The light that flows through these Silhouettes is a beautiful, softened form of natural light. This type of light does not have harsh glare or harsh shadows. This is a very soft and comfortable light. This diffused light also creates an ambiance within our home, a very cozy environment.
We have some vignettes, we do have the Hunter Douglas Vignette as well, but I mean we have Hunter Douglas Silhouette’s in our Red Bank New Jersey showroom on display. You can come see them, touch, and experience them. They truly do transform the feel of the room.
Note the picture to the right and how relaxed, calm and comfortable the living room looks. That feeling is created through the diffusion of the light through the Hunter Douglas Silhouette window shade.
Hunter Douglas Duette Architella shades insulate your home so that 50% of the heat you are paying so much for doesn’t escape out through the windows. Note the red color in the picture to the right. This is a typical home, similar to the homes we do work for in Rumson and Holmdel New Jersey. Those red spots are where heat is escaping from the home. Notice that the majority of the heat is escaping through the windows!
Any type of window treatment would be helpful for insulation, but the level of insulation will differ. Wood blinds with slats have many gaps and therefore offer limited insulation. Roman shades, Hunter Douglas Vignette, Hunter Douglas Silhouette, and other shadings are better, but still not the best.
We all have a place we love to be, whether it’s at your favorite hotel lounge, a beach in the Caribbean or a luxurious theater. There is something about the environment that just makes us feel good. With the right colors, fabrics and design you can elicit that same emotion in your own home.
Sheers are a great way to change the mood in a room.
