It’s a Hybrid: A Cross Between Two Things
Most people see shutters as made solely with genuine wood. And some shutters are, indeed, made of only wood. However, genuine wood shutters can be a drawback because they can warp in areas of high moisture and because they’re generally more expensive. That’s why Hunter Douglas created a hybrid version, the NewStyle Hybrid Shutter. With NewStyle, you can get the style of genuine wood with the benefits of faux materials, including durability, affordability, moisture resistance, and UV ray protection. Practical and attractive, NewStyle is also easy to clean—simply wipe it with a damp cloth. Other benefits include:
- Flexibility. NewStyle Hybrid Shutters work well in specialty shaped windows, including bay, bow, or corner windows as well as circles, ovals, arches, angles, octagons, hexagons, and cut-outs. Plus, they’re a good option for patio, sliding glass, and French doors.
- Options. NewStyle is offered in a variety of colors, design styles, and configurations, with louver sizes of 2½”, 3½”, and 4½”. You can choose a couple of finishes: Hunter Douglas’s proprietary Finetech® Finish replicates the look of solid wood on all colors. And the grain-like UltraGrain™ finish looks just like genuine wood.

This convenience features a soft closing mechanism as well as Quick Align™ preset louver positions, so you can adjust, align, and close the shutters with ease.
