2025 Pantone Color of the Year
At Window Treats serving Monmouth Beach, our customers frequently ask about the best ways to choose color for their homes. Our answer, of course, is that there are numerous ways to choose, including by looking at what’s trending. And each year, the foremost authority on all things color, the Pantone Color Institute, selects a Color of the Year that shapes trends for the months to come. Such is the case this year, as well—and if you’re interested in learning about this year’s color, read on!
This Year Is Mocha Mousse
All about comfort, this color offers tones reminiscent of both coffee and chocolate. Mocha Mousse is described as a “warming brown hue imbued with richness,” which conjures up a feeling of simple pleasures. Leatrice Eastman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, notes that the color “extends our perceptions of the browns from being humble and grounded to embrace aspirational and luxe” and that it “expresses a level of thoughtful indulgence.”
The Color of the Year Requires Thoughtful Consideration and Trend Analysis
To arrive at the selection each year, the color experts at the Pantone Color Institute comb the world looking for new color inspirations. This may include new artists, fashion, all areas of design, and popular travel destinations, as well as new lifestyles and socio-economic conditions. Influences may also stem from new materials, textures, technologies, and effects that impact color. “Color is an equalizing lens through which we experience our natural and digital realities,” noted Eiseman.
Numerous Collaborations
The Pantone Color Institute has swayed trends in color for numerous industries, from fashion to automotive to interior design. With this latest color, Pantone has worked with numerous well-known brands, including Motorola, Joybird, Wix, Spoonflower, Post-it, and more. It won’t take long for you to see Mocha Mousse all around!
How to Add Mocha Mousse
You can add this year’s color (or any color, really) in little bits or in large sections. You can use accents like throw pillows, throw rugs, and wall décor to add pops of it, or you can go bolder by painting walls and/or ceilings with the hue. Window fashions can help you add dimension, in either a color like Mocha Mousse or in a complementary hue. Great options from Hunter Douglas include Designer Roller Shades, screen shades, Vignette® Modern Roman Shades, and Sonnette® Cellular Roller Shades. Or you can layer your windows by adding side panels or drapery to already existing window fashion to add drama to the space. Contact us to day to determine what’s best for your space!
