Exciting Windows! Award Winner of National Design Award

Yes, this was in 2013, but we are still so proud 🙂

Elliot Laniado designed a classy window treatment solution for a homeowner in Bay Ridge. He never imagined his drapery and shades would be seen as the number one draperies project for the year 2013! At the Exciting Windows! national conference Elliot presented his project and was awarded the highest window treatment design honor of more than 100 window fashions designers! The award is a memorial to Valerie Bursten, a nationally recognized designer who appeared on HGTV. This award was created by her husband, the co-founder of Exciting Windows!   

“It was a close call, but Elliot’s design showed extra creativity and attention to detail that simply put his entry a notch above all others,” commented Susan Day, Vice President of Member Support.  The window treatment design was created for a family in Bay Ridge NY.  The client asked for classic yet elegant window treatments to complement the extensive mill work in their dining room and living room. In addition to the living room, dining room, and master bedroom, Elliot also completed a home theatre system for this client. In order to create a theatre-like experience, where the entire screen would be completely clear and visible, Elliot utilized motorized drapery with a Somfy Glydea motorized drapery track for easy opening and closing.

The award was a featured highlight of the Exciting Windows! Annual Conference to educate and recognize leading window fashions designers from as far away as California and Alaska.  Many gathered for the three day conference January 26-28.  Members were asked to share some of their amazing work from the past year. Elliot Laniado’s entry was judged best from the dozens entered for recognition.
Laniado has more than 18 years in the custom drapery and window coverings business and recently opened a Hunter Douglas Gallery location at 80 Broad St., in Red Bank.  The business has been a member of the Exciting Windows! network for over eight years and has enabled Window Treats to bring added values and special guarantees to their customers.
